CSC – Correctional Services Training Package

Our training and assessment resources are designed to be as efficient as possible and to provide your learners with simple, direct and informative content to enable them to meet the knowledge evidence, performance evidence, performance criteria and foundations skills with minimal involvement from your trainers. This means less work for your RTO and a better experience for your learners.

Our licence agreement includes complete freedom to edit the materials as you see fit and all of our RTO resources are provided in Word and PowerPoint format to facilitate this.

Our licence agreement also permits you to use the training and assessment materials for as many learners as you want. You can also upload the content of the training and assessment resources into a Learning Management System (LMS) to create engaging on-line learning courses.

Please note that purchased RTO training and assessment materials need to be contextualised by your RTO before use. We provide all of the required content and cover all of the conditions of the unit of competency within our resources. However, to be compliant with the RTO Standards, you are required to contextualise the resources to make them relevant to your RTOs target industry, learners and training and Assessment Strategy.

Training Resources.

Our Learner Guides are provided in Microsoft Word format to facilitate contextualisation and are structured to make them easy to navigate and adapt where required. They start with a concise summary of the topic which leads into a detailed and in-depth coverage of each Knowledge Evidence requirement.

Armed with a solid understanding of the topic’s underpinning knowledge, learners then progress onto the Performance Criteria section of the Learner Guide. The Performance Evidence section is written to address each and every word and intent of each criteria. This information not only explains each term or step but provides them with the skills to practically demonstrate competency. Where Performance Evidence requirements are not mapped into the Performance Criteria, the relevant learning content is interwoven into the Learner Guide content under the most relevant heading.

You will be provided with two versions of the Learner Guide. One without images, and one with engaging and relevant placeholder images designed provide context, information and colour to the learning materials. As all of our training materials are completely editable, you can choose which version to use and which images to keep or replace.

The PowerPoint presentation for each Unit of Competency is a simple accompaniment to the Learner Guide which follows the same order. Including topic headings only, the PowerPoint presentation is designed to be tailored to the RTOs Training and Assessment Strategy and delivery mode. Trainers can choose to include images or key content to support their classroom training delivery or simply have them displayed to provide a structure to the session.

All of our training resources are designed with minimal formatting to make them easy to edit, contextualise and transfer into your RTO’s template or upload into your Learning Management System (LMS) should you choose to.

Assessment Resources.

We provide Learner Assessment Workbooks that are written in the same order as the Learner Guide to enable students to easily refer between the two documents when completing assessments. We also ensure that the same terminology is used across the Learner Guide and Assessment Workbook to eliminate confusion and unnecessary calls and emails to their trainer. This ensures that students can spend their time effectively writing answers and preparing evidence instead of trying to understand the question.

Assessments include a series of questions that cover each of the Knowledge Evidence requirements that can be responded to in writing or verbally as per the assessment method and conditions. There is also a Knowledge Evidence checklist which enables the assessor to record the assessment evidence gathered and whether the response was satisfactory or not yet satisfactory for each evidence criteria.

Assessments for the Performance Criteria consist of three different assessment tools which can be used individually or together as per the method of assessment selected. These include:

• A summative assessment for each Element
• A summative assessment for the whole Unit of Competency
• Several Practical Assessment observation checklists for the whole-unit.

Where applicable, Performance Evidence and Foundation Skill assessment requirements are worked into relevant Performance Evidence assessments. Where this cannot be achieved, Performance Evidence assessment requirements are clearly indicated within the assessment tools and are mapped accordingly within the Assessment Mapping Document.
